This type of light, with smooth tones in the pre-dawn sky, is an example of where the quality of large format really stands out, particularly when the print is enlarged. This dawn was the finest light I have witnessed for some time. It was also minus 12 degrees Centigrade, so standing here from 7am until midday was occasionally a bit nippy!
